FIELD NOTES FOR A FULLER WORLD

01 / A MOMENT ELSEWHERE

Three places.
One minute away.

The wind in a reed bed. A stream beneath the surface. Wool slowly becoming thread. Choose a sound, and give it twenty seconds.

Each preview plays once. Headphones reveal the quieter details.

Covers are generated editorial artwork, not photographs of the recording sites. Credits

02 / THE WORLD, AT YOUR OWN PACE

Go far.
Stay a while.

A place can become familiar before you ever visit it. Find a sound on the map, follow a collection, or return to a favourite little corner of the world.

  1. Follow your curiosity

Explore recordings by place and by sound. From open coastlines to the small rhythms of a workshop.

  2. Make room to listen

A considered player keeps the sound at the centre. Pause, return, set a timer, or simply stay.

  3. Keep your world close

An offline sound library means a moment away can be with you, even when a connection cannot. Map tiles and external sources require internet.

An iPhone & iPad app. Coming soon.

03 / A LITTLE CLOSER

There is more to a place
than what you can see.

We are making Still Atlas for the joy of discovering it. A way to feel present in the world through the texture of a leaf, the current of a stream, or the patient work of someone’s hands.

Real recordings. Real places.

A recording belongs to the place and person behind it. We preserve its source, credit its maker, and distinguish editorial artwork from location photography.

A welcome for more listeners.

Sound offers another way into a place. We design with VoiceOver, readable type and reachable controls in mind. Listening should not depend on seeing the screen.

A quieter kind of app.

No account, advertising or analytics SDKs. Your favourites and listening history stay on your device.

Take a moment.
There is a world to hear.

Still Atlas is being prepared for iPhone and iPad.
Until then, the world is already here to listen to.
